Meet with Micheal Chong on 6 April 2014

Good Morning Fair Vote Supporters,

A kind remind that everyone is invited to the FVC – WR board meeting on Tuesday, 18 March 2014 at 7 pm in the Lion’s Brewery (lower level at the rear) of the Huether Hotel on King Street at Princess in Waterloo.

We have a busy agenda but hope to move through it efficiently so that those who wish to stay for a pint and discuss the amazing political landscape we find ourselves in will have some time to do so.

And, there is a very special opportunity coming up on April 6th to meet with Micheal Chong to discuss his Reform Bill and Brian Tanquay to address proportional representation. The event is hosted by the FVC team in Guelph and is being held at St James The Apostle Church, 85 Glasgow Street North in Guelph from 2 -4 pm on Sunday, April 6th.

The chance to hear directly from Mr. Chong about the Reform Bill is a rare opportunity as is the chance to hear and speak with Brian Tanquay, one of Canada’s leading experts on electoral reform and proportional representation. It’s worth the drive to Guelph!

The flyer for the event is below. Hope to see you soon!

Kind regards,

Sharon Sommerville

Michael Chong, MP for Wellington-Halton Hills

Michael will speak about his Private Member’s Bill, commonly known as The Reform Act. The Reform Act puts forward three simple reforms to strengthen Parliament by proposing to

  • restore local control over party nominations,
  • strengthen caucus as a decision-making body, and
  • reinforce the accountability of party members to caucuses.

The Reform Act is an important first step in rebalancing the power structure within the Canadian government.
